Chronology
Spanning four tumultuous decades during The Troubles in Northern Ireland
The real Dolores Price was married for two decades (1983-2003) to Irish actor Stephen Rea. During this time, Rea appeared in the film for which she is perhaps best known in the United States: the 1992 romantic thriller The Crying Game.
It is an incredible piece of television
In this film, Rea plays Fergus, an extremely reluctant and ambiguous member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), the same organization with which Price has been involved for many years. It covers a very difficult period in Irish history and shows its heroes (and therefore the real story), warts and all.
Dolores and Marion demonstrate in graphic detail the old adage of “Nature vs
Nurture”. They were born into a family of republican activists/volunteers and became exactly that.
The indisputable and unenviable truth is that all politics is born of war, and that is something the Irish should remember
The so-called legitimate parties in Irish politics are no better and definitely no different than Sinn Fein, they just have better centres.
