A grieving therapist begins to tell his clients exactly what he thinks
Despite his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives, including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” share their most memorable moments as their characters in Season 1 and reveal who impressed Harrison Ford the most. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to join the show, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and intended to cast people who looked like Ford.
Goldstein eventually spoke to Ford and sold him the role
Segel told Goldstein that they should at least introduce him to Ford, thinking he would immediately decline, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been approached about the project, sparking interest from other big-name actors. It’s pure and simple fun
Clearly written, great one-liners, enough pathos to keep it from becoming The Big Bang Theory for the middle class, it’s a joy to watch. Yes, real therapists wouldn’t do that, but anyone with a functioning brain cell would know that criticism from this perspective is just negativity to lower ratings. Are some of the characters stereotypes?
A total revelation and worth watching the series just for him
Yes, but no offense and no need to be taken in, you know, I worked with a gay guy who was exactly like the one shown here. The real success here is mixing the seriousness and heartbreak of therapy with the growing pains of life at different ages, stages, and of life and turning it into a funny walks one. Finally, who knew what a great light comedy actor Harrison Ford was?
